Noah Turns Ten

Noah's birthday fell on a weekday this year. He started the day off with his breakfast of choice at Nana and Papa's house before school -- chocolate chip coffee cake and Papa's specialty, perfectly crispy bacon.

After school and finishing homework, it was time for a quick dinner -- he picked Panda Express -- before heading off to his baseball game. The highlight of his day was a caffeinated drink. For years I have told him that when he turns 10, he'll be allowed to have caffeine on special occasions. He has spent weeks pondering what drink he'd choose on the big day!

The day ended with a great game of ball. Noah's team won, and he got on base both at bats. First with a solid double (it was a pretty sweet hit) and next with a walk.

Because it was a weekday, we didn't have time for a lot of presents or parties. So, the birthday will be stretched out over a few days. A Sunday dinner celebration with the family and a party with friends is to follow.

The baby of the family is a decade old!
